Hey ,Why should we learn History? 

It's up to historians to figure out the old institutions, the old culture, and 

the excavation  earthenware and weapons, and the purpose of using them.
But why?

It’s because  we can understand our present better by learning the past through
history. It's also because we can learn the wisdom and lessons of life.
But sometimes we can see some forces, with some purpose,
concealing or exaggerating the past in their favor and manipulating it as if it were
true.

We call this distortion of history.
Distortion of history is  common in countries around us,
such as Japan and China.

It's not easy to know the right facts, but why they distort history?

The main reason is to conceal past wrongs.
For example, Japan has killed many people in China and other Asian
countries in the past. But they are distorting history by saying that looting
and war were inevitable choices at that time or that they never committed
genocide. It also distorts history in order to gain an advantageous position
in relations with other countries, including territorial issues .japan claims
Dokdo to be that its land or China claims that Goguryeo was the local
government founded by a minority Chinese people.
These are clear examples of history distortion.
Then what should we do to protect our history?

The most important thing is to pay attention to our history and study it properly.
Without a proper understanding and studying of history, or someday
we will lose our history to other countries . When someone asks to you,
“Is  Dokdo Japan’s island?’or “is Goguryeo a history of China?”
can you say “no” and can you give them  objective basis? No?

Then from now on, please pay more attention to our history and try
to correct the distorted history.
You are the one who will lead the history of Korea in the future.
